Annette Cortez is an experienced bilingual public outreach and communications professional with over 15 years of experience working exclusively in the public outreach and communications field.
She specializes in developing public outreach strategies and implementing programs that are designed to inform and educate diverse communities and stakeholders, provide a forum for open communication, and meet requirements under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other regulations.
Annette has lead bilingual public outreach programs for large public transportation projects throughout the region including the Caltrans Cajon Pass Rehabilitation Design/Build Project, San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) Interstate 10 and Interstate 15 Corridor Projects, Environmental Impact Report (EIR) Projects, California High-Speed Rail (Fresno to Madera Construction Package 1 and Los Angeles Union Station to Palmdale EIR) and Los Angeles World Airports (LAX Master Plan). Additional projects include Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), Los Angeles Mission College Facilities Master Plan and Los Angeles Unified School District new building program.
Annette’s diverse skills and experience include: client relations; managing project staff and budgets; managing subcontractors and vendors; coordinating with various agencies/stakeholder groups, developing and managing stakeholder databases; and creating bilingual (English and Spanish) project material such as fact sheets, FAQ, flyers, public notices and advertisements.
