Maritza guides her team in highlighting the successes of the firm’s clients and their communities through effective media relations and community outreach campaigns, as well as the production of high-quality collateral materials.
A former journalist, Maritza successfully navigates the swiftly changing media landscape, securing optimal local and regional media coverage and translating complex issues for direct consumption by families and other school and community stakeholders.
Prior to joining VMA in 2013, Maritza covered city government and education beats for print and online media companies serving Whittier, the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena. In addition to her work as a daily beat reporter, Maritza is skilled in design and production tasks. For several years, she produced stories and coordinated photo shoots for the annual Rose Magazine, which focuses on Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, Rose Parade and surrounding arts and culture scene.
