Covina-Valley Unified School District logo designed by VMA

Case Study: Covina-Valley Unified School District Rebrand

Covina-Valley Unified (C-VUSD) is a dynamic school district in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley serving more than 11,000 students. The District’s logo and branding were out of date and didn’t reflect the current attributes of the District as an innovative institution, deeply rooted in its community, with high standards, successful students, and impactful programs. The District had attempted to update its brand in the past but had not hit upon a concept that worked. That's where VMA came in.

A newsletter, Report to the Community, and postcard design with new C-VUSD branding

VMA engaged with District leaders and stakeholders in a process of discovery, carefully listening to ensure we understood the District’s key attributes and goals for their new brand. Our design team then created several concepts to communicate those attributes and goals to the District’s audience of stakeholders and community members.

VMA’s partnership with the District produced quick and fruitful results – a new brand that spoke to both the District’s proud heritage and connections to the Covina-Valley community, as well as its forward-thinking commitment to student success. VMA also created a detailed brand guide as well as a cost-efficient rollout plan to incorporate the brand easily and quickly across District assets.
