John Torres, a recent Cal State Fullerton graduate, joined VMA as an associate supporting the firm’s Public Affairs and Community Engagement teams. His experience includes coordinating events, community outreach, producing press releases, and creating media for the non-profit space.
John received his degree in public relations in May of 2024. During his time at the university, John landed a community outreach internship at Waymakers Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, where his love for supporting those in need began. He worked closely with children in the shelter and gained first-hand knowledge of the needs of the people he was servicing. During his time at Waymakers, John helped coordinate events and community outreach materials aimed at raising awareness and funds for the shelter.
John also has experience producing freelance work for the Pet Prescription Team (PPT), a non-profit dedicated to bringing therapy animals to people and organizations who need them, free of charge. During his time at PPT, John wrote press releases, social media posts, pamphlets, and other media to support the goals and needs of the organization.
As John moves forward in his career, he remains committed to leveraging his skills and passion to continue uplifting the communities that VMA serves.
